Louetta Anna Emily Gresham, of Corydon, Ind., passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, on her 98th birthday, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, surrounded by her family.

She was born May 2, 1923, in Georgetown, Ind., to the late Raymond and Hilda Deuser Emily.

She graduated from Corydon High School, worked at the Corydon JayC Store in the meat department and at the Corydon High School kitchen, volunteered for 18 years at the Harrison County Hospital gift shop, was a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Corydon and attended Shiloh Pilgrim Holiness Church near Corydon.

She was cared for by a loving and faithful daughter-in-law, Juanita Gresham.

Louetta was an avid gardener. She loved family holiday gatherings and was an excellent seamstress.

She married Calvin Eugene Gresham on June 16, 1942.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Karen Wathen; her son-in-law, Charles Wathen; and her two sisters, Edna Gresham and Frances Sailing.

She is survived by her son, Larry E. Gresham (Juanita) of Corydon; her grandchildren, Tammara Martin (Marcus) of Ramsey, Ind., Melissa Johnson (Aaron) of Lakewood, Colo., Wayne Gresham (Carolyn) of Corydon, Rosanna Fowler (Keith) of Corydon, Susan Johnston (Phil) of Corydon and Clay Wathen (Robin) of Lanesville, Ind.; nine great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; her niece, Sandy Sailing of Georgia; and her nephews, Raymond Earl Gresham and Daryal Ray Gresham.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Shiloh Pilgrim Holiness Church near Corydon. The Rev. Mark Arnett and the Rev. Danny Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in Lanesville Cemetery in Lanesville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Pilgrim Holiness Church.

Pallbearers will be Clay Wathen, Caleb Gresham, Phil Johnston, Wesley Leamer, Roger (Buck) McGraw and David Lowe.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Shiloh Pilgrim Holiness Church or the charity of your choice.
