Foresters Directory highlights Indiana woodland expertise
A directory of professional foresters is now available, listing Indiana foresters who provide private woodland services and advice. Foresters are located throughout the state and provide assistance such as management plans, timber sales, tree planting, invasive species control and other services.
“Finding the resources to help you meet your woodland management objectives is important and key to successful stewardship of private woodlands,” said Lenny Farlee, Purdue Extension Forester. “These foresters can provide the expert advice and assistance needed to meet your property management goals.”
The directory is available online at www.findindianaforester.org to find foresters by county or address via interactive map or as a downloadable file. Printed copies of the booklet are available at county Extension offices, county Soil & Water Conservation District or Natural Resources Conservation Service offices or from a state Division of Forestry district forester.
The Indiana Forestry & Woodland Owners Association, which produced the directory, is dedicated to conservation and sustainable management of woodlands in Indiana. The IFWOA advocates for best forestry practices to achieve objectives of clean water, wildlife habitat, native species diversity, timber production, recreation, carbon sequestration and others.
