Conrad entries fare well in Anderson
Indiana’s pari-mutuel track, Hoosier Park in Anderson, began the 2021 season with only two nights of racing the first week and then three nights of racing this past week. Next week, there will be four nights and in late April a fifth night will be added to the normal weekly schedule for the remainder of the season, which continues through late November.
Locally connected horses racing at Hoosier Park this past week were all from the Conrad Stable. Two of their several 3-year-old pacers were in the same race: Charlie Conrad drove the horse Onoitsmymothernlaw to a third-place finish and noted Hoosier Park trainer and driver Spence Taylor picked up a second-place check ahead of Charlie with the pacer Jack Wacker.
Later in that same Thursday night program, Conrad’s pacer Seaside Hill was sixth in his race, but in other races the stable collected purse money with Bludhaven grabbing fourth place and Ultimaroca collecting a third-place check.
At Miami Valley Raceway in Lebanon, Ohio, the filly pacer Soul Kitchen was third in her race. She was born and raised on the Walther farm south of Lanesville and is now owned and raced by Ohio interests.
While entries are not complete yet for this week at Hoosier Park, it is expected that many horses from the Conrad Stable will be entered and the 3-year-old pacer Caption This, partially owned by Hayswood Farm of Corydon, will make his racing debut.
