Opal Stayer Early, age 82, of Mauckport, Ind., passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at her home.
She was born July 22, 1938, in Louisville, Ky., to the late Edgar Stayer Sr. and Opal Hollis Stayer.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth (Bud) Lawrence Early Sr.; son-in-law, Jeff Rausch; grandson, Jeremy Rausch; and brothers, Edgar Stayer Jr. and Leslie Stayer Sr.
Opal was a member of the Kentuckiana Herb Society, the Master Gardeners, Harrison County CASA and New Middletown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Jackie Rausch of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Elaine Murphy (Jimmy) of Mauckport; sons Kenneth L. Early Jr. and Kevin Early (Chris), both of Louisville; grandchildren Scott Rausch, Jesi Nobles (Kelly), Jamie Halpin (Jim), Lynora Crawford (Greg), Amber Parker (Clay), Cassandra Early, Duncan Early (Amy), Morgan Early, Trent Murphy, Fallon Murphy, Walker Murphy and Zach Janes; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Veda Thomas and Evelyn Schupp; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Opal at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home on April 15 and 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. or Saturday from 11 a.m. to the time of her service.
