Repair Affair seeks referrals Repair Affair seeks referrals

Repair Affair of Harrison County is seeking referrals for its 24th annual event, set for Saturday, Sept. 25.

The deadline to submit referrals for this year’s Repair Affair is Friday, May 28.

Referrals should be made in person at Harrison County Community Services in Corydon or by calling 812-738-8143.

Repair Affair’s site selection committee will inspect the referrals to determine which ones will be included in this year’s event. Priority will be given to homes that need work to make them safer or more accessible for the elderly and low-income residents of the county.

The goal of Repair Affair is to allow Harrison County residents to continue to live independently in their homes.

On event day, workers will be divided into teams and sent to work at various sites throughout the county. In general, no specific skills are required, although some sites will have specialized needs, such as roofers.

Persons interested in serving as team leaders or volunteers and organizations that wish to help should call Maggie Abart-Briles at 812-952-3165 or send an email to [email protected]

Repair Affair of Harrison County also is looking for people who are interested in serving on its board as well as committees. Those who are interested should contact Lee King, board president, at 812-596-0238 or by email at [email protected].
