FFA members are ‘foundation’ of nation’s food security

The Harrison County Cattlemen’s Association congratulates all those FFA members and their advisers for National FFA week, and we thank The Corydon Democrat for its splendid recent special overview of FFA in our area.

These young men and women and their dedicated advisers are the foundation of our nation’s future food security, gaining knowledge and performing service that will ensure the country has sustainable, healthy food not only for the present, but also for future generations to come.

Whether in their service at the fair, on Agricultural Day or at the many other events in our county in which they give tirelessly of their expertise and time, their role in our society and, especially, in our area where agriculture serves our economy and our way of life cannot be overestimated. We all eat, we all depend on food producers and we all owe these young men and women — and their advisers — our gratitude.

If you know a FFA member or one of their advisers, please take the time to say thank you and tell them you know their work is important. In person, by email or by telephone, let them know you applaud their hard work and dedication to our future.
