Samuel R. Taylor
Samuel R. Taylor, 81, Marengo, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
Born June 19, 1939, near Marengo, he was the son of the late Omer R. and Roma Edna McNaughton Taylor.
He was an Air Force veteran, a graduate of Indiana University, a retired rural mail carrier, a former employee of General Electric and the old Naval Ordnance and a lifelong farmer. He had served as commissioner, was a long-time member of the Extension board, was a Legionnaire and a Mason, served on the soil and water board, was long-time member and past president of the cattlemen’s association and a lifelong member of the Marengo United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Bill) and Charles (Chuck) Taylor.
Survivors include a sister, Roma Mills, and two brothers, Spencer Lee and Jim Taylor.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Masonic rites at noon, at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown.
The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in the Marengo Cemetery. Brother Tim Jellison will officiate.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Marengo Cemetery or Marengo United Methodist Church.
