Lyman Delaney Jr.
Lyman Delaney Jr., age 72, Ramsey, Ind., passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.
Lyman was born Nov. 25, 1948, at Fort Ord, Calif.
He was a graduate of Indiana University, served in the New Albany National Guard Unit, was proprietor of Southern Indiana Office Merchandise, was former auditor for Humana and worked in real estate and accounting. Lyman enjoyed playing softball, golf and basketball. He was an avid fan of IU basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball. During his youth, he gained notoriety playing the electric organ in a band called The Nomads.
He was preceded in death by his father, Capt. Lyman Delaney.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy J. Rigot Delaney of Ramsey; son, Derrick Delaney (Kelley) of Depauw, Ind.; daughter, Wendy Delaney (Craig May) of English, Ind.; grandchildren, Ava and Logan Delaney and Tanner May; and brother, Robert Denny Delaney (Judy) of New Salisbury, Ind.
Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be held at a later time. Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey is handling the arrangements.
