Ruby E. Miller, 98 of Witt, Ill., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, in Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Ruby, the daughter of Alva John and Emma Carrie Felker Schneider, was born July 23, 1922, in Franklin Township, Harrison County, Ind. She married Harold W. Miller on April 25, 1946, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Witt. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1993.

She is survived by children Larry Miller (Connie) and Roger Miller of Witt, Patsy Dwyer (Randy) of Lutz, Fla., and Jim Miller (Diane) of Nokomis; grandchildren Brian Cuffle (Pam) of Riverton, Ill., Kurt Cuffle (Jennie) of Sherman, Ill., Clint Cuffle (Aimee) of Lutz, Fla., Jayne Fesser (Carl) of Fillmore, Ill., Jacob Miller and Joe Eddington, both of Witt, Ill., Lora Polley (Cecil) of Owaneco, Ill., Cory Slightom (Carolyn) of Fillmore, Shane Slightom (Lucy) of Ramsey, Jennifer Boyd (David) of Yorkville, Ill., Shannon Gehrt (Nate) of Aurora, Ill., and Joe Dwyer (Mandy) of Plainfield, Ill.; 25 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Evelyn Stauder; great-grandson, Daniel Miller; and daughter-in-law, Rita Miller.

Ruby graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1939, attended Browns Business School and worked at Babiak Electric in Springfield. She was a member Witt Lioness Club, Irving American Legion Axillary and St. Louis Catholic Church CCW. During her life, she enjoyed sewing, painting and attending her grandchildren’s athletic activities and NHS basketball.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, Ill., with burial in St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery, Witt, Ill.

Memorials are suggested to St. Barbara’s Cemetery or Witt Museum.
