Verblene Meeker Fouts, age 87, Palmyra, Ind., passed away at her home on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.
She was born in Mammoth Springs, Ark., on July 17, 1933. She married David Fouts in 1996.
Verblene was a homemaker, who enjoyed dancing, gardening, watching the hummingbirds, caring for her cats and, most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Fouts; son, Richard Wayne Mills; two brothers, Coy Meeker and Kenny Meeker; two sisters, Opal Dye and Barbara Meeker; two grandchildren, Nick Mills and Leah Onstott; two stepchildren; and her first husband, Robert Mills.
Verblene is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Duke and Tina Bean (Donnie); four sons, Robert Mills Jr., Ronald Mills (Dottie), Anthony Mills (Stella) and Jeffrey Mills (Vashti); one sister, Debbie Rodgers (Pete); one brother, Boyd Meeker (Donna); 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren, as well as three stepchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Visitation will be held on the same day from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Due to COVID restrictions of no more than 25 at a gathering at one time, a Facebook live stream will start at 1 p.m. on the Love Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra.
