Carole Marie Pousardien left this world on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, to be with her Lord and Savior following a lengthy struggle with multiple myeloma. She died at her home with her daughter in Rockton, Ill.

Carole was born May 5, 1940, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of Edwin and Anna Marie Roederer Fruchtenicht.

She graduated from Valley High School in 1958 and earned an Associate Degree in secretarial sciences from the University of Louisville. Carole married Stephen F. Pousardien on June 6, 1964, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years and their children, Stephen Jr. of Hedgesville, W.Va., Timothy (Jessica) of English, Ind., and Ann Marie McLevige (Leonard) of Rockton, Ill. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Nicholas and Hayley Pousardien of Haymarket, Va., Jesse and Autumn Pousardien of English, CaroleAnn and Evelynn McLevige of Rockton, Ill., and Destiny Young of Evansville, Ind.; and two sisters, Nancy Guiboa (James) of Simi Valley, Calif., and Sharon Garrett (Joseph) of Crestwood, Ky.

Preceding her in death are her parents and brother, Bruce Fruchtenicht.

Her calling in life was as devoted wife and mother to her loving family. She was also a loyal member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod with service to Hope, Manassas, Va., St. Paul, Falls Church, Va., and Our Savior, Danville, Ky. She also did volunteer work with the Cub Scouts and elementary schools at Manassas, Va.

Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, as well as at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday, Jan. 11, from 12 to 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Louisville on Jan. 11 at 1 p.m.

Committal services will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m.

Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required.
