County sees 5 additional COVID deaths
An additional five Harrison County residents have died from COVID-19 in the past week, according to the Harrison County Health Dept.
Health officials said they were an 80-year-old man, a 69-year-old man, an 86-year-old woman and two 68-year-old men, all with underlying medical issues.
These latest deaths brings the total to 41 county residents to die from the virus. Thirty-nine of the deceased persons tested positive for COVID prior to their death while two are listed as “clinical” deaths, meaning a physician diagnosed them as having COVID-19 but no test was documented.
To date, 2,823 Harrison Countians have tested positive for the virus, up 262 since last week. There have been 14,974 tests performed, an increase of 467 from the previous week.
In Indiana 5,845,344 tests have been performed, up 260,251 since the prior week, with 533,083 positive tests reported, an increase of 32,801 from last week.
An additional 589 Hoosier deaths have been documented in the past week, bringing the total to 8,292. An additional 371 Hoosiers are believed to have been positive for the virus at the time of their death, up 23 since last week.
