Holiday hoops are scheduled to take center stage the next couple of weeks on the high school basketball scene.

The annual PSC Classic will be contested Dec. 28 to 30 with a field that again includes Corydon Central, Crawford County and North Harrison.

Game 1 will pit Crawford County (2-5) and Perry Central (2-1) at 6:15 p.m. EST Monday at Tell City High School. Game 2 will follow with Corydon Central (1-2) facing the host Marksmen (2-0).

Game 3 will feature Boonville (1-3)  vs. Class 2A No. 4 South Spencer (7-0) at 6:15 p.m. at Heritage Hills High School followed by Game 4 with the Class 3A top-ranked Patriots (4-0) playing No. 13 North Harrison (3-2).

Heritage Hills opened its season with a 56-38 win over the Cougars on Nov. 28.

Game times are 6:15 and 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the same two high schools with  Game 5 (Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2) at 6:15 at Tell City followed by Game 6 (Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2).

Heritage Hills will host Game 7 (Loser Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4) at 6:15 followed by Game 8 (Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4).

All placement round games will be played at Heritage Hills on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. (seventh place), 4 p.m. (fifth place), 6 p.m. (third place) and 8 p.m. (championship).

Gyms will be cleared after each game. Spectators will have to wait to be admitted after gyms are cleared. Attendance will be limited to family members of participants and essential staff.

The Lanesville Eagles were set to compete in the Johnson Memorial Health/Sports Plus Inc./Applebee’s Holiday Classic at Edinburgh on Monday and Tuesday but announced yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) that they have withdrawn from that tournament.

Likewise, the South Central Rebels have withdrawn from the Tri Plastics Inc./Schatz Insurance Holiday Hoops Classic at Forest Park on on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On the girls’ side, the North Harrison varsity and junior varsity teams will seek to defend their respective titles in the Lady Braves Holiday Clash at Indian Creek on Saturday, Jan. 2.

In the varsity tournament, Indian Creek (6-3) will face Purdue Polytechnic (7-2) at 10:30 a.m. followed by North Harrison (5-3) against Bloomington North (4-8) around noon.

The consolation game is scheduled to tip at 5 p.m. followed by the championship tilt around 6:30.

The pairings are the same in the jayvee tournament with Indian Creek facing Purdue Polytechnic at 9 a.m. in the high school gym while North Harrison will face Bloomington North in the middle school gym at 9.

The championship and consolation games will tip at 3 p.m. in the two gyms.
