Lanesville’s Adams IBCA Player of Week honoree
Gracie Adams, a senior who plays basketball for Lanesville Junior-Senior High School, was selected as the Week 3 IBCA/Franciscan Health Player of the Week for District 3.
Adams had a big-time scoring performance Nov. 9 in the Lady Eagles’ matchup at Christian Academy of Indiana when the 5-foot-9 forward was solid in limited action during a romp that saw the Eagles move to 5-1 on the season. Adams scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out seven assists and stole the ball seven times from the Warriors.
On Nov. 21, in what was the Lady Eagles’ home opener in their seventh game of the year, Adams was 22 of 31 from the field, 3 of 6 from 3-point range and scored 47 points to become Lanesville’s all-time leading scorer with 1,428 career points. The senior forward also posted a double-double with her 10 rebounds and collected five more steals in the Lady Eagles’ sixth win of the season.
This is the 13th season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program but the first season it is presented by Franciscan Health, a corporate sponsor of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
Elkhart junior DeMour Watson and Shenandoah senior Erikka Hill were selected as the District 1 and District 2 honorees, respectively.
North Harrison’s Ali Saunders was an honorable mention for District 3 for the week.
Week 3 ran from Nov. 16 to 21.
