The North Harrison Community School Corp. Board of Trustees adopted the 2021 budget and approved personnel changes at Thursday night’s meeting.

Board president Veronica Battista, attending the meeting virtually, made the motion to approve the adoption of Form 4, which is the ordinance and resolution for appropriations and tax rates, Capital Projects plan and school bus replacement plan. The motion passed 5-0.

A late item added to the agenda proposed a 50-cent per hour increase in wages for all non-certified employees. Superintendent Dr. Lance Richards explained this would ultimately account for a $3 a day increase in pay for all school bus drivers. The motion, made by Gregg Oppel, passed unanimously.

Personnel appointments approved included Marla Adams, NHHS volunteer academic coach; Lark Mull, NHHS academic coach; Rusty Smith and Morgan Hollen, NHES instructional assistants; Kandace Troxell, elementary volleyball coach; Andy Pappano, high school boys’ swim coach; Ryan Hutchinson, high school wrestling coach; Elijah Lillis and Braden Jenkins, high school boys’ basketball facilitator volunteers; and, as basketball coaches, Jack McIntire (eighth-grade boys), Billy Wilkins (fifth-grade boys), Chad Clunie (sixth-grade boys), Marcus Burgher IV (seventh-grade boys), Alan Reed (JV girls), Barry Geltmaker (girls’ varsity assistant), Jamie Kolkmeier (girls’ biddy ball), Greg Walters (boys’ varsity assistant), Jason McIntire (freshman boys), Jerod McIntire (volunteer varsity) and Matt McCary (volunteer boys).

Resignations of Allison Rogers and Chris Black, both of whom were NHES instructional assistants, were accepted.
