Carl F. Barrow Sr.
Carl Franklin Barrow Sr., age 81, of Greenfield, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020.
He was born in Corydon, Ind., on Dec. 9, 1938, to Homer and Clara Mathes Barrow.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Carl married Sylvia Pogue on Jan. 15, 1959, in Higley, Ariz.
He was a chief electrical estimator and owner of Flex-N-Things in Indianapolis, Ind. Carl was a member of the Blue Lodge and Scottish Rite, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and mowing the lawn. Carl most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was well known and loved by many for his wit and charm.
Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sylvia Barrow; daughter, Jeannie Blizzard, and husband Cliff; grandchildren, Randy A. Bratton, Annie Bratton, D’Ann McGeehon, and husband Trevor, and Nick England, and wife Rachel; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Clara Barrow; daughter, Libby Bratton; son, Frank Barrow Jr.; and four siblings, William Barrow, Frances Mahoney, John Barrow and Jean Kestler.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. U.S. Highway 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
