Tri Kappa Associates pecan sales still a go
The Corydon Associate Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa met Sept. 8 outdoors by the pool of Betty Stem. Members wore masks and social distanced. Hostesses for the meeting were Edith Davis, Pat Windell and Stem.
The Corydon Associates’ annual pecan sale was discussed. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, pecans will not be available in local businesses. However, pecans may be purchased from individual associate members for $11 per pound.
The philanthropy committee announced that all profits from last year’s pecan sale were distributed to the following: Riley Hospital Cheer Guild, $225; Hoosier Art Salon, $85; Harrison County Community Services, $1,000; South Harrison Community Development Group in Elizabeth, $600; South Harrison Community School Corp., $600; and North Harrison Community School Corp., $600. The total amount given was $3,110.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 13, with the location still to be determined.
