Election prep Election prep

Members of the Indiana National Guard, going with a cowboy theme instead of wearing their Army fatigues, unload a shipment of personal protective equipment Friday morning at the Harrison County Court House that they brought to Corydon from Salem. The items, notably hand sanitizer and face masks and shields, will be distributed among the county’s polling locations for use on election day, Nov. 3. The last day to register to vote in the General Election is Monday, Oct. 5. Applications to vote absentee are being accepted by using an ABS-Mail form, which can be found online at indianavoters.com, by calling the Harrison County Clerk’s office at 812-738-4289 or the Indiana Election Division at 1-317-232-3939, or by visiting the county election office; requests must be received by (not postmarked by) 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 22. In order to be counted, absentee ballots must be received by the county election board by noon on Nov. 3. Early in-person voting at the clerk’s office will begin Oct. 6.
