Hazel Ruth Sauerheber Wolfe, 92, Corydon, Ind., died Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was born March 21, 1928, at her home, the daughter of Dexter P. and Dessie McCutcheon Sauerheber.

Hazel was a Five & Dime store associate in Corydon, courthouse secretary, powder plant employee in Charlestown, Ind., Disciples of Christ Church secretary, homemaker and a member of Fountain United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Wolfe; four brothers, Richard, Warren, John Harold and Victor Sauerheber; and three sisters, Marjorie Sauerheber, Betty Harbeson and Barbara Sibert.

She is survived by her son, Gary L (Pete) Wolfe (Becky) of Corydon; a sister, June Wolpert of Nashville, Ind.; four grandchildren, Travis Eli Wolfe (Carrie), Krista Briscoe (Robert), Kara Carver (Mat) and Kimberly Ruth Wolfe; seven great-grandchildren, Titus, Stella, Winston, Gretchen Hazel, Abram, Murray and Louis; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, and again Wednesday morning from 9 until funeral time.

Due to COVID-19, masks must be worn in the building and limit of 60 people in the building at a time.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Fountain United Methodist Church.
