Clarence Dawson Berry, 73, of Louisville, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1946, in Louisville, to the late Millard E. and Ruth M. Watters Berry, who resided in Elizabeth, Ind.

Also preceding him in death were brothers, John L. Berry and Millard E. Berry Jr.

Dawson is survived by his daughter, Amanda L. Vance (Roger), and her three daughters, Olivia, Alexandra and Laura. Also surviving him is his sister, Leanna Burkhart of Elizabeth, and a brother, David Berry (Norma) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dawson leaves nieces, nephews and many cousins throughout the United States.

Mr. Berry was an active member of the Metropolitan Community Church of Louisville as Minister of Outreach. He was also active with the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department Advisory Board for which he had received two bronze and one silver certificates for his volunteer hours with the board. He was an avid photographer, who also taught a small group of physically impaired adults. Their last contribution to the Kentucky State Fair won them a blue ribbon.

It was the wish of Mr. Berry that he be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Ind.) was entrusted with his care. Services will be held at a later date.
