Walmart Foundation aids St. Vincent society
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Harrison and Crawford counties applied for and received a grant of $500 from the Walmart Foundation.
Ron Deatrick, president of the conference, was presented with a check by Tammy Friedmeyer, manager of the Corydon Walmart Supercenter store, on Aug. 26.
The charitable organization has been working in this community since 1998 to help their neighbors end poverty by assisting with financial and material needs. Requests have increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant will be used to cover these expenses.
Inquiries for assistance from St. Vincent de Paul may be made by calling St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon at 812-738-2742.
