Charles W. Yates
Charles William (Bill) Yates, 77, of Danville, Ind., formerly Corydon, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020.
Bill was born on Oct. 31, 1942, in Louisville, Ky., to the late Charles and Annie Yates.
He was a Korean War veteran, who served in the U.S. Army. Bill was a retired boilermaker. He was a member of Pisgah 32 Masonic Lodge in Corydon. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Bill loved to hunt, fish and tinker around on many different projects to include shooting many style guns and rifles and loading his own ammo. He enjoyed working with and making things from leather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; sister, Martha Noble; nephew, Charles Yates; brother, Robert Lee, and sister-in-law, Joann Yates; and a stepson, Greg Trostle.
Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Yates; sister, Linda Spencer (Dennis); children, Jesse Yates (Pennie); and two step-children, Ronnie Trostle (Robin) and Marcia Gregg (Mike); 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private. Bill’s final resting place will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration.
