Buddy Dixon, 86, French Lick, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at 3:14 p.m. at his home.
Born May 29, 1934, in Paoli, he was the son of the late Ed and Lois Eickelberger Dixon.
He worked at the A&P for many years, retired from JayC Food Store as a meat cutter, attended Mount Lebanon Methodist Church and was a former deacon at Corydon Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, the former Joyce Beaty; two brothers, Bill and Jack Dixon; and a sister, Ruby Dixon.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, the former LaVerne Walters; six sons, Danny and Gary Dixon, both of Paoli, Randy Dixon of Laconia, Bruce Horste of Indianapolis and Steve and Kent Horste, both of Mooresville; three daughters, Peggy Myers of Hardinsburg, Janet Dixon of Paoli and Linda Wiley of Corydon; a brother, Bob Dixon of Hammond; two sisters, Ruth Hardin of Worthington, Ohio, and Rose Jefferson of McCordsville; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 11, until 1 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli.
Funeral: Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. at the mortuary with burial in Concord Cemetery.
Officiants: Brothers Lee Collins and Dennis Adams.
