William G. Blessett Sr., 80, Corydon, Ind., passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon.

He was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Shively, Ky., the son of the late Albert and Edna Dennis Blessett.

He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 89 and a farmer. He was a member of the Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 32 and the Scottish Rite Valley of George Rogers Clark in Corydon. William was an Army veteran during the Vietnam era and was a member of First Capital Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nancy Sue Redden Blessett; brothers, Gilliam and Gilbert Blessett; and sister, Priscilla Blessett.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Schmidt Frazier Blessett; four sons, William G. Blessett Jr., Stacy Blessett (Alisa), Mike Frazier (Kim) and Mark Frazier (Stephanie); daughters, Angela Fleace (Bill) and Cindy Walter (Bob); sisters, Serena Liebert (Larry), Thelda Thompson (Don), Clara Barger (Ralph) and Patricia Leppert (Andrew); grandchildren, Justin Fleace (Jill), Matthew Fleace, LeighAnn Metcalf (Joey), Alison Ernspiker (Brad), Joshua Walter (Megan), Jessica Wernert (Isaac), Jenna Davis (Brandon), Andrew Frazier (Beth), Nathan Frazier (Alyssa), Blake Frazier, Corey Frazier (Angela), Noah Frazier (Elise) and Lucas Frazier; and great-grandchildren, Molly and Sadie Fleace, Bree and Leo William Metcalf, Adilyne, Isla and Cora Wernert, Jerzi and Jase Walter, Mason and Ellie Davis and Titus, Victoria, Landon, Maya and Ezekiel Frazier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Father David Kocka will officiate. Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and again on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m.

Due to COVID-19, we are restricted to 60 people or less in our building at one time. Masks are recommended but not required. We are not accepting food at this time except individual pre-packaged items. We will be transmitting the service out to the cars in our parking lot for those who wish to remain in their cars. Please tune your radio to FM 106.7.
