Emma Cantrell, 91, died Thursday evening, July 16, 2020, at her home in Corydon, Ind.
She was born Oct, 22, 1928, in Floyds Knobs, Ind., to Hubert and Ellen Wright Smith.
She worked as a nursing assistant for Dr. George Allen’s Family Practice in Georgetown, at Little Lamb Daycare, taking care of the newborns, and she loved to quilt and sew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James York Cantrell; and her son, Ronald C. Cantrell.
She is survived by daughter Billie Jean Bilbrey (Gale) of Corydon; daughter-in-law Maureen Cantrell of Lanesville, Ind.; grandchildren Josh Cantrell (Lacy) of Corydon and Zach Cantrell (Kristan) of Lanesville; great-grandchildren Jaiden, Brenna and Rhett; a sister, Maxine Smith of Georgetown, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 19, 2020, from 2 until 8 p.m. and Monday morning beginning at 9 until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Due to COVID-19, only 60 people or less in the building at one time. Masks are not required, but they are recommended. Any food brought into the funeral home for the family must be individually wrapped. The funeral service will be transmitted on FM 106.7 on your car radio if you wish to hear the service from outside the funeral home.
