Redeemed Women’s Transitional House will host its first 5k fundraiser walk Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at Hayswood Nature Reserve west of Corydon.

The transitional house is a faith-based residency in Corydon for women who are transitioning from jail or prison back into the community. The mission of Redeemed Ministries is to restore hope in each individual and provide opportunities that will retrain the mind and allow a clear thinking process to develop.

The organization’s goal is to create healthy habits by introducing biblical wisdom, educational skills and rehabilitation programs, as well as job opportunities to prevent recidivism and negative behavior from reoccurring.

The registration fee for the 5k is a donation of the participant’s choice.

T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event for $12, and people who donate $100 to Redeemed Ministries will receive a free jacket.

A $500 raffle drawing will take place during the event; attendees can purchase a chance of winning that at $1 a ticket or six tickets for $5.

Children are welcome to attend the event, and strollers will be permitted.

All proceeds and donations will go to the ministry to help with the house expenses.

To purchase tickets, order a T-shirt or to make a donation, call Mindy O’Neal at 1-502-395-8382.
