Barbara Jean Sibert, 85, Corydon, Ind., passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at her home in Corydon.

She was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Corydon, the daughter of D.P. and Dessie McCutcheon Sauerheber.

Barbara was a retired proof operator and bank teller for Old Capitol Bank in Corydon. She was a 4-H leader, a Girl Scout leader, a band booster, an avid University of Kentucky fan and a lifelong member of Fountain United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Warren, John Harold and Victor Sauerheber; sisters, Marjorie Sauerheber and Betty Harbeson; and son-in-law, Mike Kasbaum.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Howard Sibert of Corydon; four daughters, Vivica Palmer (Greg) of Sharpsville, Ind., Lorna Rose (Rosie) Kirkpatrick of Corydon, Letitia (Tish) Kasbaum of Louisville, Ky., and Felicia Sibert of Corydon; two sisters, Hazel Wolfe of New Middletown, Ind., and June Wolpert of Nashville, Ind.; six grandchildren, Corey and Caleb Palmer, Joshua Love (Anngela), Erika Steele (Luke), Mitch Kirkpatrick (Ashley) and Mackenzie Kasbaum; and great-grandchildren, Madeleine and John Steele and Emma Love.

Visitation and funeral: Private due to current restrictions concerning COVID-19; however, the family would like to invite you to listen to the funeral ceremony from the safety and comfort of your car as we air it on 106.7 FM in the east parking lot on Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Following the funeral ceremony, the family will step outside to acknowledge visitors as we dismiss vehicles from the lot. Please show your love and support safely and remain in your vehicles for the duration of the service out of respect for the family, yourself and the community.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to either Fountain United Methodist Church, c/o the funeral home, or to Amedisys Hospice at 305 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
