Alma Catherine Shartzer, age 101, of Duff, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, Ky.

She was born on Jan. 28, 1919, in Grayson County, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Bessie Harrell Burnett.

She was a housewife and devoted mother, who enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, cross-stitching and spending time with her family. She was a member of Duff Church and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by five children, Beverly Ann Edwards (David) and Sherman Shartzer (Mildred), both of Corydon, Ind., Becky Cann (Sidney) of Leitchfield, Ky., and Jerry Shartzer (Janet) and Jo Escue (Nolan), both of Duff, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Allen Edwards (Michele), Susan Fessel (Chris) and Steve Shartzer (Becca), all of Corydon, Ind., Jim Shartzer (Jen) of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Mac Cann (Heather) of Owensboro, Ky., Chris Cann (Channa) of Leitchfield, Ky., Bradley Shartzer (Heather), also of Leitchfield, Ky., Michael Shartzer (Cindy) of Bowling Green, Ky., Katie Hickman (Chris) of Franklin, Ky., and LeaAnn Frank (Wes) of Leitchfield, Ky.; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles (Tom) Shartzer; two siblings, Louise Thomason and Harold Burnett; and one granddaughter, Marie Escue.

Graveside service: Friday, May 1, 2020, at the Duff Cemetery.

Arrangements: Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, Ky.
