Mainstream Fiber Networks is working to help the community by providing free public Wi-Fi in the parking lot of the Harrison County Community Foundation, located at 1523 Foundation Way NE in Corydon.

The free public Wi-Fi will help students utilizing eLearning and members of the community who may be filing for unemployment, working remotely or have another need to access the internet.

There is also public Wi-Fi available in the Mainstream regional office parking lot, located at 2370 Landmark Way NE in Corydon.

“During this challenging time, we want to make sure our friends and neighbors in Harrison County have access to broadband when they need it most,” said Bryan Gabriel, founder and CEO of Mainstream Fiber Networks. “These public Wi-Fi access points will allow students to continue eLearning, employees to stay connected with their workplace and families to remain in touch with loved ones.”

To access free public Wi-Fi in the HCCF parking lot, users will be required to click and agree to the terms of agreement. No password will be required. Also, remember to continue to practice safe social distancing if accessing public Wi-Fi in the parking lot.

Julie Moorman, president and CEO of the HCCF said, “We are so appreciative of our partnership with Mainstream Fiber Networks and their commitment to Harrison County. By providing free public Wi-Fi space for our students and for families, MSFN has shown their continued commitment to Harrison County.

“In tough times like these, it is so important for us to come together with resources,” she said. “Thanks to MSFN for their support.”

Moorman also expressed appreciation to the school districts and Harrison County Public Library for providing free public Wi-Fi in their parking lots. These public Wi-Fi locations include:

• Harrison County Public Library — main branch, 105 N. Capitol Ave. in Corydon; Lanesville branch, 7340 E. Pennington St. NE; Elizabeth branch, 5105 Main St. NE; and Palmyra branch, 689 Haub St. NE.
