Senior citizens menus


Meals are available weekdays at 11 a.m. at the Palmyra Senior Center, located at 1235 Greene St., and at 11:30 a.m. at the Joe Rhoads Senior Center, 123 S. Mulberry St., Corydon, for those 60 and older or disabled. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, meals are currently available for pick-up only. Home delivery of meals also is available.

Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance (by 11:50 a.m.) by calling 812-738-7603 (Corydon) and 812-364-6661 (Palmyra). A $2.50 donation is requested per meal. (A chef salad can be ordered in advance to take the place of the regular meal.)

Here are the senior citizen hot lunch menus for the week of April 6. A half pint of milk or juice is served with each meal.

Monday: Beef taco, Texas pinto beans, shredded green salad with tomatoes and cheese, fruited gelatin.

Tuesday: Chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, broccoli florets, wheat bread, old-fashioned ambrosia salad.

Wednesday: Beef and noodles, buttered carrots, wheat roll, fruit medley.

Thursday: Barbecue pork riblette, baked sweet potatoes, cauliflower, wheat roll, chilled peaches.

Friday: No meals due to Good Friday.
