Senior citizens menus
Meals are available weekdays at 11 a.m. at the Palmyra Senior Center, located at 1235 Greene St., and at 11:30 a.m. at the Joe Rhoads Senior Center, 123 S. Mulberry St., Corydon, for those 60 and older or disabled. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, meals at the sites are currently available for pick-up only. The option of home delivery of meals also is available.
Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance (by 11:50 a.m.) by calling 812-738-7603 (Corydon) and 812-364-6661 (Palmyra). A $2.50 donation is requested per meal. (A chef salad can be ordered in advance to take the place of the regular meal.)
Here are the senior citizen hot lunch menus for the week of March 30. A half pint of milk or juice is served with each meal.
Monday: Pot roast with carrots, celery and onions, parslied potatoes, wheat roll, frosted cherry gelatin.
Tuesday: Cream of potato soup, turkey and cheddar on wheat bread, baked potato chips, Mandarin oranges.
Wednesday: Pork cutlet with brown gravy, whipped sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, wheat roll, pudding parfait.
Thursday: White chili, collard greens, cornbread, fruit medley, oatmeal cookie.
Friday: Swiss burger on wheat bun, buttered corn, creamy coleslaw, banana.
