With the girls’ basketball state champions crowned, post-season awards are beginning to be announced.

Lanesville took home plenty of honors in the Southern Athletic Conference. The Lady Eagles finished the regular season with a 5-0 record and haven’t lost a conference game in two seasons.

Coach Angie Hinton was selected as SAC Coach of the Year, and Gracie Adams was named Most Outstanding Player.

Adams is joined on the all-conference team by Linzie Wernert and Morgan Sonner.

South Central’s Lily Boley was also named all-conference.

Others who were selected to the All-SAC team were Taylor James (New Washington), Riley Nunn (Henryville), Makynsie Barger (New Washington), Christina Knight (Borden), Allison Horn (Henryville) and Addy Cole (Crothersville).

Two local players also earned spots on the girls’ All-Mid Southern Conference team. Ali Saunders of North Harrison was an all-conference selection and her teammate, Lucy Robertson, earned honorable mention.

Other members of the All-MSC team were Lettie Nice (Salem), Karly Sweeney (Salem), Abigail Ratts (Salem), Jayla Mays (Scottsburg), Alana Striverson (Silver Creek), Jaclyn Emly (Silver Creek), Katherine Better (Brownstown Central), Ashley Schroer (Brownstown Central), Peyton Crace (Charlestown), Isabell Claywell (Eastern) and Leah Miller (Salem).

In addition to Robertson, players who earned honorable mention were Grace Iglehart (Austin), Kendra Sill (Eastern), Hope Tomlinson (Salem), Natalie Noel (Salem), Zoe Zellers (Scottsburg) and Kynidi Striverson (Silver Creek).
