Man dies in fire
A man’s body was found in a home in the 3600 block of Old Heinze Road following a fire yesterday afternoon.
Jon Saulman, chief of the Harrison Township Fire Dept., said they were dispatched at 4 p.m. Monday to a modular-style home after a neighbor saw smoke coming from the residence and called 911.
Ramsey Volunteer Fire Dept. assisted in extinguishing the blaze.
Saulman said it took about 25 minutes to gain control of the fire, and firefighters remained on the scene about 3-1/2 hours.
The Harrison County Coroner’s office identified the deceased as William Donald Hollopeter, the homeowner.
Saulman said there was no apparent reason to suspect foul play and the Indiana State fire marshal had been to the scene.
