Linda K. Brown
Linda Kay Brown passed away peacefully and pain-free at a hospice facility in Georgia with family at her side on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, after a two-year battle with primary peritoneal cancer.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1945, to the late James W. and Lois Schlensker Brown.
A graduate of Leavenworth High School in 1963, she studied art at the University of Louisville, served the Town of Georgetown as the clerk-treasurer and worked as the accounting manager for Deuser Electric. She was blessed with an array of talents, including sewing, painting, cooking and music among many others. She is best remembered as an amazing and loving mother, sister, friend and grandmother “Memaw.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dwayne Brown and James L. (Butch) Brown; and sister, Sharon McIntosh.
Survivors include her daughters, Alexia K. Sanders (Eric, fiancé) of Jeffersonville and Melanie A. Gamage (Brian) of Canton, Ga.; her sons, Chris Deuser of Lanesville and Eric Deuser (Parish) of Corydon; her sister, Ann Sewell (Phil) of Huntingburg; her grandchildren, Sam, Luke, Matthew and Adelynn Gamage, Corey Deuser, Nate Bowman and Marissa Deuser; and grand-dogs, Walter, Frankie, Macy, Cooper, Chelsea, Alyssa, and Coco.
A Celebration of Life: Saturday, Feb. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Georgetown Optimist Club, 8260 State Road 64, Georgetown, IN 47122. In place of a funeral, she requested all her family and friends come together to celebrate her life and share happy memories.
