Two CCHS wrestlers advance to semi-state

Two Corydon Central High School wrestlers won their opening matches in Saturday’s regional at Jeffersonville, which earned them spots in the semi-state tournament.

Zane Schreck, wrestling at 106 pounds, and Bryson Rowley, who wrestles at 113, will represent the Panthers.

Schreck has compiled a 34-8 record this season. He defeated Jenn Ramirez in the first round. Schreck lost in the second round to Tell City’s Coy Hammack and also lost in the consolation to Liam Krueger of Columbus East.

Rowley, who is 33-9 on the season, beat West Washington’s Wyatt Johnston in the first round then lost in the second round to Noah Lykins of Columbus East. Rowley lost in the consolation round to Jeffersonville’s Robert Cline.

The semi-state tournament will be Saturday at the Ford Center in Evansville.
