Earl Joseph Harbeson, 80, Marengo, Ind., passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind., from a massive heart attack.

He was born Feb. 2, 1939, the son of Claude C. and Effie Gehlbach Harbeson.

Earl was part of the clean-up crew on second shift at Wenning Packing Co. in Central Barren, Ind. He attended Highland Holiness Church in Corydon, Ind.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude C. and Effie Gehlbach Harbeson; eight brothers, Howard Harbeson, Charles Harbeson, Mick Harbeson, Donald Harbeson, Burrel Harbeson, Claude Harbeson Jr., Paul Harbeson and Bill Harbeson; and three sisters, Darlene Cunningham, Thelma Lang and Effie Ellen Harbeson.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Benham Harbeson; three daughters, Stephanie King (Terry) of Marengo, Rachel Maxine Harbeson (Damien) of Louisville, Ky., and Sarah Harr (Bill) of Marengo; seven grandchildren, Josiah Morgan, Andrea and Andrew Cobb, Mackenzie King, Alexia Eckart, Willie and Willow Raines and one on the way; sister-in-law, Alma Harbeson of Corydon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home inn Corydon.

Funeral: Friday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Hursttown Cemetery north of Corydon.

Officiants: Danny Goodman and Ben Watts.

The family suggest memorial gifts to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
