Franklin Township residents and members of the Lanesville Community School Corp. community are invited to attend an informational meeting regarding the proposed continuation of an operating referendum that first passed in 2014.

If the vote passes in the primary election in May, a rate of up to 17 cents per $100 assessed property value could be included in Franklin Township’s property tax rate set by the Indiana Dept. of Local Government and Finance.

Information about the proposed referendum will be outlined by Steve Morris, superintendent of the Lanesville Community School Corp. and principal of Lanesville Junior-Senior High School, and Lisa Hammond, principal at Lanesville Elementary School, during a meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

The LCSC Board of Trustees will take official action on the inclusion of the referendum on the ballot during a special meeting Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 4:30 p.m. in the Carl Uesseler Corporation Office.
