Paul H. Schneider, 99, of Corydon, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind.

He was born July 23, 1920, near Corydon, to the late Oscar and Bertha Blank Schneider.

He was a farmer, a member and trustee of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville, Ind., a founding member of the Lanesville Heritage Committee, a lifetime member of the Harrison County Farm Bureau in Franklin Township, a director with the South Harrison Water Corp. and an advisory board member of the Franklin Township School Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Clematine L. Schoen Schneider; his daughter, Melba R. Carter; his sons-in-law, Larry L. Rakestraw, Bill Stilger and Joe Carter; his granddaughter, Nicole Thibert; and his sisters, Ruth Foreman, Pearl Williams, LaVerne Wagoner and Helen Gleitz.

Survivors include his sons, Keith Schneider (Phyllis) of Warrenton, Pa., Barry Schneider (Bren) of Boise, Idaho, and Glenn Schneider (Brenda) of Lanesville; his daughters, Joann Rakestraw of Corydon and Rita Brewington (Larry) of Lanesville; his sister, Irma Bell of Corydon; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 18, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 19, after 10 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. John’s Cemetery near Lanesville.

Officiant: Pastor Mark Carnahan.

Pallbearers: Jason, Travis, Chad, Clint, Troy, Todd and Zac Schneider, Justin and Nathan Stilger, Greg Rakestraw and Jeremy Albers.

The family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
