Dolores M. Quinkert Day, 90, Lanesville, Ind., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, in New Albany, Ind.

She was born Oct. 1, 1929, in New Albany to John and Marquerite Franconia Quinkert.

Dolores was a former R.N. at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville, Ky., and a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society and of St Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Day; son-in-law, Ron Cantrell; and brothers, James Quinkert and John Quinkert.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Day (Jan) of New Albany, Vincent Day (Pam) of Laconia, Ind., Dominic Day (Melanie) of Lanesville, Brigid Ott (Bruce) of Georgetown, Ind., Maureen Cantrell of Lanesville, Anne Harbeson (Lynn) of Lanesville, Joan Robison (Pat) of Corydon, Ind., and Maria Day of Lanesville; her brother, Father Denis Quinkert of St. Meinrad, Ind.; and her sister, Sister Joann Quinkert of St. Mary of the Woods, Terre Haute, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 19, from noon to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7, and Monday, Jan. 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Mass of Christian burial: Monday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.

Celebrants: Father Denis Quinkert and Father Bob St. Martin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St Mary Catholic Church.
