William Stanley (Stan) Courtney Sr., 93, Lanesville, Ind., passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at his home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1926, in Jefferson County, Ky., the son of Allen and Leona Stanley Courtney.

He was an inspector at Ford Motor Co. in Louisville, Ky., and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Stan was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jan Hussung; a stepfather, Sam Ligari; three brothers, J.W., Tom and George Courtney; and a sister, Fadelma Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Audra Julia Rochner Courtney of Lanesville; two sons, Jeff Courtney (Dawn) of Borden, Ind., and Bill Courtney II (Kim) of Georgetown, Ind.; son-in-law, Donnie Hussung of Lanesville; two daughters, Jamie Rogers (George) and Jackie McCulloch (Trinler), both of Lanesville; grandchildren, Erica, Corey and Cody Hussung, Ryan, Devon and Collin McCulloch and Jenna, Brittany, Jeffrey, Dylan and Damon Courtney; great-grandchildren, Destinee and Brage Stocks, Ada and Ruth Hussung Memphis, Violet and Willa McCulloch and Lamon, Gwen, Riley, Malcolm and Ellis Courtney and two on the way; and great-great-grandchildren, Romi Benbow and Kayleigh and Jaelynn Stocks.

Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 17, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind.

Mass of Christian burial: Friday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial, and military rites, in the church cemetery.

Celebrant: Father Robert St. Martin.

The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or the American Diabetes Association.
