Ralph Leonard Hofelich, 75, Elizabeth, Ind., passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at his home in Elizabeth surrounded by his family.

He was born March 30, 1944, in Jeffersontown, Ky., the son of Francis Leonard and Rose Zella Williams Hofelich.

He retired from General Electric of Louisville, Ky., after 30 years of production service. After retirement, he continued to work at Chariot Run Golf Course in Elizabeth, as well as Greater Clark County Schools. He was a member of Messiah’s Vineyard (the Old Roger’s Campground Church). He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and tinkering in his garage.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Everett Hofelich.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley E. Phelps Hofelich; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Ashley of Laconia, Ind., and Linda K. Kaufer (Dennis) of Elizabeth; two brothers, Paul Edward Hofelich of Sellersburg, Ind., and Leo Hofelich of Louisville; grandchildren, Andrew Ashley (Cayla), Amber Ashley (Tyler), Megan Kaufer Paz (Ricky) and Mason Kaufer; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Ashley and Eligh Baker.

Visitation: Friday, Jan. 3, from noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 4, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
