Lori J. Spurlock, 62, Corydon, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at her home.

Born Jan. 8, 1957, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen L. Messmer Gerdon.

She was formerly employed as a case worker for the State of Indiana in New Albany, worked as a server at Donahue’s Café and Gregory’s Basement, both in Corydon, and was a member of First Capital Christian Church in Corydon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Avery Hibbs.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Spurlock; three sons, Jeremy Hibbs (Brittany) and Andrew Hibbs, both of Corydon, and Matt Spurlock (Kayla) of Gainesville, Ga.; a daughter, Jessi Paris (Scott) of Marengo; a brother, Tim Gerdon (Sharon) of Corydon; three sisters, Kim Crawhorn (Tony), Karen Kinser (Terry) and Carol Martin, all of Corydon; 11 grandchildren, Rylee, Hayden, Harper, Abigail, Drew, Ethan, Treyton, Taylor, Tanner, Bristol and Violet; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 19, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 20, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Friday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Perseverance Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.

Officiant: The Rev. Randy Kirk.

Pallbearers: Jeremy and Andrew Hibbs, Matt Spurlock, Rex Messmer, Tim Gerdon and Taylor and Tanner Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers: Drew, Ethan, Rylee, Hayden and Treyton Hibbs.

The family suggests memorial gifts to First Capital Christian Church or Perseverance Chapel Cemetery.
