The Bellamy Brothers, in their song “Tropical Christmas,” could have been singing about Harrison County, with record-breaking temperatures in the area on Christmas Day. Officials at the National Weather Service office in Louisville recorded a high of 69 degrees last Wednesday, breaking the previous recorded high of 68 set in 1893. The Indian Creek Trail in Corydon was busy with walkers, joggers and bicyclists; outdoor games were played; and some families ate their Christmas dinner outdoors. Unseasonably warm temperatures stuck around through Sunday until a system swept in, bringing lots of rain and cooler temperatures. There’s currently a chance of snow in the forecast for Tuesday.
