Top point scorers at the Indianapolis meet included Addie Johnson who scored 102 points, winning a gold medal in the 25-yard breaststroke, a silver medal in the 25-yard backstroke, and bronze medals in the 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard butterfly.

Capital Aquatics, coming off a second-place team finish at the Columbus Invitational in November, recently took 31 swimmers to the Indianapolis Natatorium for a three-day meet, Dec. 13 to 15.

The team finished 13th out of 32 teams that included more than 950 swimmers.

“It is fantastic for a first-year team to be able to compete at that level with some of the best clubs in the state,” Mike Woertz, Capital Aquatics coach, said.

Top scorers at the Indianapolis meet included Addie Johnson, 102 points, won bronze medals in the 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard butterfly, a silver medal in the 25-yard backstroke and a gold medal in the 25-yard breaststroke; Mason Spencer, 76 points, won a silver medal in the 25-yard butterfly and a bronze medal in the 25-yard breaststroke; Hallie Dougherty, 35 points; Summer English, 71 points; Bryce Stilwell, 61 points; and Wyeth Forte, 23 points.

Capital Aquatics’ home pool is the YMCA of Harrison County in Corydon.
