Michael F. Morgan
Michael Farrel Morgan, 71, Corydon, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at his home.
Born July 18, 1948, in Taswell, he was the son of the late Everett O. and Sylbia B. Morgan.
He worked 26 years at Louisville Gas & Electric before retiring to follow his real passion as a carpenter and handyman as
Morgan Construction, where he was better known as Working Man Farrel. He also enjoyed IU basketball, country and bluegrass music, car shows and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Highfill Chapel Church and attended the Little Mission Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Morgan.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Sue Williams; two sons, Michael Shannon Morgan (Jill) of Cypress, Texas, and Jaeson Trevis Morgan (Claudette) of Taswell; two brothers, Don Morgan of Paoli and Randy Morgan of Corydon; a sister, Renda Manship of English; eight grandchildren, Cody, Jonathon (Michelle), Corey (Jessica), Cameron, Jensen, Benjamin, Braeden and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Zoey, Delilah and Kennet; and his beloved golden retriever, Maggie.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 17, after 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Farrel donated his body to the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Anatomical Education Program. This gift will contribute significantly to the advancement of health science education in the state of Indiana. Those, like Farrel, who decide to bequeath their bodies to the health sciences, have made a significant contribution that benefits the quality of life and care for the living.
