Sharon Conway of Corydon recently had her second children’s book published.

“Finding Joy,” published by Christian Faith Publishing Co., tells the true story of a kitten Conway found, and named Joy, then raised at her home.

Conway, who worked as a secretary for the South Harrison Community School Corp. for 38 years before retiring in 2009, said she was inspired to write children’s stories to share her experiences and the joy of loving and raising animals.

The book, which details Joy’s nine years of life with Conway, is currently available to check out at the Harrison County Public Library in Corydon and the Breeden Memorial Library in Leavenworth. It will also soon be available at other library branches in Harrison County, pending processing.

Conway said she thinks the book should be read by parents before being given to children because the last page discusses the end of Joy’s life.

“Finding Joy” is also available for purchase online through Barnes & Noble and at Amazon.com.

A third book by Conway is currently under production by Christian Faith Publishing Co. and will be available sometime next year.
