Wilma Luther, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon.
Born April 18, 1936, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Ruth Curts Hannel.
She was owner and operator of Wilma’s Beauty Salon, worked at IGA Foodliner in Corydon, Winn Dixie in Corydon and New Albany and the JayC Store in Corydon and was a member of the Corydon Christian Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Maurice Elwanger and Weldon Wayne Luther: a brother, George D. Hannel; and two sisters, Evelyn Crecelius and Kathleen Lane.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Lopp (Dale) of Corydon; a stepdaughter, Jolonda Yeargan (Sean) of Laconia; a brother, Earl Hannel (Shirley) of Bismarck, N.D.; a sister, Lois Lowe (Gerald) of Corydon; a sister-in-law, Beulah Damon of New Salisbury; a grandchild, Tabitha Waynescott (Daniel); two great-grandchildren, Landon and Anniston Waynescott; several nieces and nephews, including Michelle Dayvault (Scott), Natalie Lowe (Brad Moser), Gerald Lowe Jr. (Sonya) and Georgie Hannel; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma and Wyatt Dayvault, Izzy and Abby Lowe and Sam and Wes Bowman.
Visitation: Friday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the German Reform Cemetery in Crandall.
