Mary Jane Bezy Ott, 94, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

Born July 10, 1925, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Bernard A. and Marguerite E. Venne Bezy.

She retired in 1996 after 37 years at the Floyd County Auditor’s office, was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lanesville and was a member of St. Mary’s of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany, the Democrat Women, St. Anthony’s Secular Franciscans Fraternity and the Ladies Guild of Mount St. Francis.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Ott, in 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, Clara Ott Hopper (Sam); eight grandchildren, Laura Sinkhorn (the Rev. Dan), Christopher Hopper (Sherilee), Cathy Foreman (Derrick), Vincent Hopper (Heather), Mary Harmon (Jeffery), Jessica Korte (Jason), Felicia Fletcher (Ryan) and Philip Hopper (Elizabeth); 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 4, and Monday, Dec. 9, after 9 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.

Funeral liturgy: Monday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany with burial in St. Mary’s New Albany Catholic Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts to Mount St. Francis Retreat Center, 101 St. Anthony Drive, Mount St. Francis, IN 47146.
