Ikuko (Bonnie) Reising, 88, Corydon, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at her home.

Born June 24, 1931, in Kurume City, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Yasuke and Harue Kawahara Yamanaka.

Coming of age in post-World War II Japan, she graduated from high school and attended a dressmaker school. She began working at Itazuke Air Base in Fukuoka-ken as a seamstress and then worked at Camp Wood Army Base in Kumamoto and met Army Sgt. First Class Louis Michael Reising, whom she married. She attended St. Joseph Church in Corydon, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and worked part-time for 35 years at Hickman’s Flower Shop in Corydon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Michael Reising; a son, Frank A. Reising; a granddaughter, Marie A. Cagle; four brothers, Toshizo, Yashiro, Sabaro and Shigeru; and two sisters, Mitoko and Shigeko.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Watanabe (Alan) and Joan Touchette (Albert); a daughter-in-law, Shirley Slucher Reising; four grandchildren, Adam Reising, Louis Touchette, Willie Watanabe and Keenan Hale; and a great-grandchild, Logan Cagle.

Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 11 after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.

Officiant: Pastor Donnie Whitlow.

Pallbearers: Adam Reising, Louis Touchette, Gerald Lowe, Wyatt Dayvault, Pete Hardsaw, Donald Ingle and Lawrence Ingle.
