William H. Harrison cabin continues winter hours

The William Henry Harrison Log Cabin, located at 425 N. Capitol Ave. in Corydon, will continue to be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. until Christmas.

In addition to tours of the historic log cabin and Posey House, the Historical Society of Harrison County has a variety of paperback booklets available for last-minute minute Christmas gifts, including “Down in Old Corydon,” “Harrison County Driving Tour,” “Nine Buildings That Were in Corydon During the Capitol Period (1816-1825) — And Are Still Here” and “Harrison County Fair Sesquicentennial Souvenir Booklet.” The booklets are available for a donation to the Historical Society of Harrison County.

The Society is currently accepting photos and information for the next booklet project, “Small Towns, Harrison County,” which will include information and photos about past and present Harrison County communities. Anyone who has items to share can take them to the Harrison cabin and they will be scanned and immediately returned.

For more information about any of these Historical Society projects, contact Karen Schwartz, Historical Society of Harrison County president, by email at [email protected], by calling 812-736-2373 or by regular mail to Schwartz at 5850 Devil’s Elbow Road NW, Corydon, IN 47112.
